Bob Dylan cover project, the 80s

Bob had a rough time in the 1980s. This is the decade he reached his creative nadir. It is also the decade he embraced being a born again Christian, and began a creative resurgence that has carried him all the way to the present day. A lot happened to Bob in the 80s!
This is the time period that I was least familiar with prior to this project. Of the seven albums Bob released in the 80s, I had previously heard only two: Infidels and Oh Mercy. I was happily surprised to discover Bob’s “Christian albums”, Saved and Shot of Love, were both very listenable. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the remainder of this decade.
Of all the decades, this one produced by far the worst cover album art. Perhaps it is fitting that the albums Dylan was least engaged in making also featured art that feels dashed off at best. I ended up coming up with completely new cover art for five of the seven albums, and redesigning the covers of the other two. In spite of my harshness here, I did have a lot of fun creating new art for these albums.
