Bob Dylan cover project, the 90s

After a rough 1980s, Bob released far fewer albums in the 1990s. It was time of self-reflection. He began the decade with two albums of covers. They took him back to his musical roots, and they were produced simply, with just his voice and guitar. Then he came back with Time Out of Mind, one of the best albums of his career.
I made completely new covers for two of these albums, Under the Red Sky and Good As I Been To You, since the cover photos were honestly pretty boring. For Under the Red Sky I imagined a middle aged Bob squatting on the same street as The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan. This time, far from being the happy-go-lucky 20 year old with lady friend in arm, Bob is alone and unmoored, a man out of time. For Good As I Been To You, I drew Bob listening to an old record, presumably one of the songs he covers on the album. He is in a sparsely decorated room similar to the photo of blues musician Robert Johnson.
The challenge for World Gone Wrong and Time Out of Mind was drawing them in a style distinctly my own while remaining faithful to the original photos, both of which I like very much.
